Another post I want to first give credit to my sister who I cased this from and she cased it from someone at http://www.splitcoast.com/. Be sure to check out their website for some great inspiration. But I wanted to say that when my sister Chris showed me this card she made for a 1 year old's birthday, I knew I had to make it one of my monthly meeting projects. It is created with just punches. The only stamping I did was the sentiment. So enjoy and whoever came up with this is a genius. I'm a great copier and there is nothing wrong with that to everyone out there that feels guilty for doing that - sometimes I copy an idea just to jumpstart my creativity and get the juices flowing.

Small Child Birthday Card
I wanted to quick post a few St. Patty's Day cards I threw together. I didn't have a lot of St. Pat's stuff, but the little bit I had I came up with a couple of cute cards. The white houndstooth is cut from a 12x12 sheet of Hambly screenprint. Enjoy and watch next week for another drawing for free blog candy. You have to sign up as a follower to be eligible.

I don't know if I have mentioned this in a prior post, but as some of you know, I have recently reorganized my craft room and I have to tell you, I have never been more productive in using all of the cool "stuff" I have. So I found these rub-on butterflies that I bought many years ago - very inexpensive and I think I got them in the paint department at Menards. Anyway, when I reorganized my stash I came across them and thought I maybe should get rid of them and then I came up with this card idea when I got a hold of the Basic Grey Ambrosia 6x6 cardstock. So I took one of the rub-on butterflies and rubbed it onto a piece of vellum. The heavier the vellum the more stable the butterfly is but I have to tell you, I rubbed one onto some flimsier vellum last night with some friends and it literally looked like the butterfly had just landed on the top of my card because of it's "whispiness" (is there such a word?). Anyway I'm sure you all have something like this in your stash because this is where rub-ons were first introduced - in the paint department for home decor. Supplies to create the card are: whisper white (card base), Going Grey, Pumpkin Pie designer paper, Basic Grey-Ambrosia black dot and strip of butterflies. The circle is a cuttlebug die and the saying (You're on my mind) is Inspired By Nature by Stampin' Up. Enjoy and I'd love to hear your comments. Sign up to "follow me" on the right hand side of my blog here, and I'll put your name in a drawing to win some blog candy this week. Check back later to find out what the blog candy is for the week. I will pick a name a week from today (Saturday, March 7th, and send an email to the winner. Thanks for looking.

I needed to make 2 women a set of 6 all occasion cards this weekend so I just took a sheet from the In Color Stampin' Up cardstock - all textured - and created the same card using all 6 colors. The card template I used is actually on page 195 of the new Spring/Summer Stampin' Up Catalog. What a clean and simple card to make and I love the little circles I put along the scalloped edge - doesn't it sorta look like fringe? The 2 sets are just slightly different but the same template and concept. See the 2nd set above.

Gift Set of All Occasion Cards
I you saw my earlier post with the valentine heart that opens and there is a magnet closing the card - this is another version I just used a flower. I cut it using the Cricut, Basic George and I kept the size at 5". This is a 6x6" card. I also textured the flower with a Sizzix texture plate to give it some depth. The magnet is between two layers of cardstock on the flower and underneath the green on the right hand side.

I wanted to use these cute little corduroy buttons that Stampin' Up has in their new catalog and these are the summer sun. I had to make a birthday card for my Godson and stumbled across this arrow paper in my stash and came up with this card. This is a great way to use up a piece of 2-sided cardstock. The flipside of the green and arrow are each other. The "dude" are just rub ons and I didn't really notice until it was uploaded how crooked the letters are, but I think because the whole theme is whimsical, I can get away with it. So enjoy and let me know what you think.

I don't know about you guys, but I just love chipboard and I had to have Stampin' Up's new On Board So Tweet. It's the cutest. I actually fell in love with it because of the owls, but I started working with the bird and came up with this card. I do like to cover chipboard with background paper but it was a little much with all the little pieces for this birdie so I inked the tail and the little side wing with chocolate chip and the feet and beak are inked with pumpkin pie. The card base is Whisper White - it's a larger card: folded in half it is cut at 6-1/4x4-1/2". The other cardstock layers used are apricot appeal, kiwi kiss and designer paper "Good Morning Sunshine." The eye is a clear dew drop. The saying: "it's time to celebrate" is from Stampin' Up - A Little Birdie Told Me. I hope you enjoy it and it will inspire you to make a card using up some of your chipboard. Be sure to leave a comment. I love to hear what others think about my ideas.

So I've had this pink polka dot ribbon my sister gave me 2 years ago and I finally decided to break down and use it. It was the way she gave it to me, in a beautifully crafted heart shaped box with lots of little mini muffin papers inside with all kinds of embellishments in each muffin paper. Anyway, how to make this card:
I cut 3 hearts (I believe I used a size 2 or 3-you'll have to play with this) using my Cricut and the Basic George cartridge (yes it's the same heart I used in the magnet card below). Anyway, I cut 3 of them out of white cs and layered them to make my own chipboard heart. I then covered it with heat & stick powder and then poured on the glitter. I have to honestly say I don't know what company the glitter is from, it's been in my stash for awhile. Anyway, I then assembled my card using a chocolate chip base, pink pirouette on the top half and baja breeze on the lower half using Stampin' Up's scallop border punch on the bottom. I wrapped the pink ribbon around the top half and punched a hole in the heart using my crop-a-dile. I brought the ribbon up through the hole and stuck a pink checkered brad in the center to hold the ribbon in place. The heart is mounted with dimensionals. It's certainly not a difficult card to make, just a little putsy. I then rubbed an "x" stitch rub-on between the two colors. I love these rub-ons, you have to touch it or you would think I actually stitched on the card. [Thanks Chris for the cute ribbon.]

Here's another version of the heart magnet card. Once I started making these and figured out all of the glitches, they became easier and easier. This one is using Teresa Collins cardstock and the "a crazy little thing called love" is also Teresa Collins. I love her line - she has such cute things. Look at the post below on how to create this card.
