So I've had this pink polka dot ribbon my sister gave me 2 years ago and I finally decided to break down and use it. It was the way she gave it to me, in a beautifully crafted heart shaped box with lots of little mini muffin papers inside with all kinds of embellishments in each muffin paper. Anyway, how to make this card:

I cut 3 hearts (I believe I used a size 2 or 3-you'll have to play with this) using my Cricut and the Basic George cartridge (yes it's the same heart I used in the magnet card below). Anyway, I cut 3 of them out of white cs and layered them to make my own chipboard heart. I then covered it with heat & stick powder and then poured on the glitter. I have to honestly say I don't know what company the glitter is from, it's been in my stash for awhile. Anyway, I then assembled my card using a chocolate chip base, pink pirouette on the top half and baja breeze on the lower half using Stampin' Up's scallop border punch on the bottom. I wrapped the pink ribbon around the top half and punched a hole in the heart using my crop-a-dile. I brought the ribbon up through the hole and stuck a pink checkered brad in the center to hold the ribbon in place. The heart is mounted with dimensionals. It's certainly not a difficult card to make, just a little putsy. I then rubbed an "x" stitch rub-on between the two colors. I love these rub-ons, you have to touch it or you would think I actually stitched on the card. [Thanks Chris for the cute ribbon.]

Here's another version of the heart magnet card. Once I started making these and figured out all of the glitches, they became easier and easier. This one is using Teresa Collins cardstock and the "a crazy little thing called love" is also Teresa Collins. I love her line - she has such cute things. Look at the post below on how to create this card.

So here is the card I posted on Splitcoast today. This was such a fun card to make and it's a little putsy, but I think it was worth it. I first cut a card from chocolate chip CS 4-1/4x5-1/2. I then turned it upside down so it opened from the left instead of the right and cut 1-5/8" off the left hand side - only the top part of the card. I then cut two hearts (5") with my Cricut (Basic George). One was in white cardstock and the pink one was cut from Stampin'Up's Raspberry Tart cs. I then scored the white one in half and attached it to the left side of the chocolate chip card - see photo above. I cut the Raspberry Tart CS in half and attached half of it on the front and half of it on the inside. Before attaching the one inside, I placed + portion of a magnet between the layers. On the 2-1/2" strip of chocolate chip CS on the right hand side, I placed a 2-1/4x5-1/4 piece of Basic Grey cardstock placing the - (negative) portion of the magnet between the layers. When the card closes, the magnets hold the flap down. A little tip is after having the + portion of the magnet already inside the layers on the heart, I put the negative half of the magnet on the heart and of course they joined instantly. I then peeled off the piece of paper and closed the heart onto the flap and that's how I knew where to put the magnet between the brown layers. (Hope that makes sense). I then just embellished the card with a row of Heidi Swap pink rhinestones and some LOVE stickers on the outside. I stamped Happy Valentine's Day with an old Stampin' Up stamp and that's it. I did ink all edges. I hope you enjoy it and will try it for yourself.

This is my version of the Basic Grey long card. The scallop border and flower are all from the Sugared Stickers. Everything was sponged and the flower is on dimensionals with a rhinestone in the middle. The leaves are made using the oval punch and then snipping off the tip to make the leaves pointed. I then creased in the middle and attached with glue dots.
